People will dress in Orange to symbolize the colour of the Royal Family. This color has royal roots and symbolizes the pride in the country and being Dutch, “oranje” being the lineage of the current dynasty, the House of Oranje Nassau.

The programme of the day can be found here. – Vrijmarkten, fancy fairs, special tours around the city, concerts and markets will happen all around the country.

My daughters came home from school lately, singing this year’s “King’s song” and they were practicing the right “moves” for it, as children will dance it during the Koningsspelen this year. It is a song about moving and healthy eating:
